People experiencing mental ill health are benefitting from a cultural approach to their recovery, leading to a reduction in service use and more met needs, announced the Cultural Consultation Service (CCS) at its national conference in London last week.
CCS believes that:
Better outcomes and cost effective services depend on culturally competent commissioning, policy making and health care provision, through evidence-based research, communication and consistent engagement.
This is why CCS is working towards tackling the complexities of cultural and ethnic diversity within the health care system, the workplace and within the learning environment.
Our research, service outcomes and ability to adapt to meet the varying needs of clients, organisations and staff teams has a positive impact on the quality of care.
